Product: Thermal Beanie for Under Bike Helmet
I'm really impressed by this product, especially for the price paid. The value for money is hard to beat.
Fit: This is a one-size-fit-all product and it worked well for my head (male, 1.7m tall, short hair - sorry, I don't know my head measurements). It snugs around my head without feeling uncomfortable and it covers my head and hears really well. Also, it does not interfere with the helmet in any way.
Warmth: I've used it on dry rides from 0C to 10C, mostly flat, and I would say that the sweet spot is 0-5C. At those temperatures, it does a really good job keeping my head and especially my ears warm, providing good wind protection up to ~35kph (I don't ride much faster than that). Above 5C I start to notice the beanie warming my head more than I like. Note that IMO I cannot review the beanie's warmth in isolation - if I am over-dressed, even on cold temperatures, I will take the beanie off. If I am under-dressed, I'll keep it even on warmer temperatures.
Quality and value: I really like the fleece material; I'm not an expert on fabrics but this beanie is light and warm. It feels well made and high quality, leaving nothing to be desired especially at this price-point. Time will tell about how it lasts but so far I'm impressed.
Overall sentiment: I am happy I bought this beanie and I would easily recommend it to friends.
Why 4 stars and not 5: Well... this is mostly for the Lameda product team: There are 2 different beanies on the catalog, and they are both called "Thermal Beanie for Under Bike Helmet". Please fix that! (this review is for the most expensive one of the two)
