Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series: Race-Focused Ytelse, Komfort, and Aerodynamisk Efficiency

LAMEDA Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series in a race-focused riding position

LAMEDA has always been committed to delivering a more komfortabel, ytelse-focused cycling experience for ryttere at every level—from those taking their first sykl to professional athletes competing at the highest level.

Through ongoing conversations with professional athletes and experienced syklister, we have developed a deeper understanding of what apparel must deliver during racing and high-intensity training. We have also seen growing demand for a one-piece cycling suit that combines professional ytelse with a clean, distinctive aesthetic.

This insight led to the development of the Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series—a race-oriented one-piece cycling system bygget around aerodynamisk efficiency, anatomical support, functional stoff zoning, and komfort in the sykling position.

Ytelse no longer has to come at the expense of style. Every sykl can express speed, confidence, and individuality.

Ytelse First: Reduce Drag and Turn More Power into Forward Motion

In competitive cycling, apparel should do more than provide komfort. It should also reduce unnecessary aerodynamisk drag wherever possible.

Compared with a traditional trøye-and-bib-shorts combination, a skinsuit integrates the upper and lower sections into a single garment, creating a more continuous outer surface. This reduces wrinkling, stoff movement, and excess material around the waist, allowing the garment to follow the rytter’s body more closely and maintain a cleaner aerodynamisk profile.

Every aspect of the Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series—from stoff selection and pattern engineering to functional details—has been developed around the demands of fast sykling.

Based on rytter feedback, under certain sykling conditions, a close-passformting skinsuit may reduce power loss by approximately 5–10 watts compared with less aerodynamisk apparel. Actual results may vary depending on speed, sykling position, body shape, environmental conditions, and individual passform.

For ryttere focused on speed, training efficiency, and sustained power output, a stable, close-passformting skinsuit helps reduce distractions and allows greater focus on kadens, rhythm, and the road ahead.

Gender-Specific Setepute: Ergonomisk Support for Male and Female Ryttere

Male- and female-specific cycling chamois construction

During langdistanse sykling, the cycling pute is one of the most important factors affecting komfort and pressure management.

Because male and female ryttere differ in pelvic anatomy, sit-bone position, and pressure distribution, the Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series uses gender-specific setepute designs developed according to ergonomisk and anatomical principles.

The cushioning and support zones are positioned differently for male and female ryttere, allowing each pute to align more accurately with the body’s primary contact and load-bearing areas.

Multi-Lag Construction for Balanced Cushioning and Support

The setepute uses a multi-lag construction composed of a komfort lag, a functional surface stoff, and high-density pressure-relief inserts.

The komfort lag has an approximate density of 65 kg/m³, a pressure specification of approximately 20 kPa, and a thickness of approximately 3 mm. It is designet to provide soft, next-to-skin cushioning and improve initial contact komfort.

The high-density support inserts have an approximate density of 120 kg/m³, a pressure specification of approximately 30 kPa, and a thickness of approximately 14 mm. These inserts are positioned in the main load-bearing zones to provide more stable support during long turer.

The setepute surface stoff is composed of approximately:

  • 77% polyamide
  • 21% elastane
  • 2% carbon fiber

This combination balances softness, stretch, moisture management, and durability.

Soft Against the Skin with Efficient Moisture Management

The setepute surface uses MICRO SENSE-grade polyamide yarn combined with LUANA carbon fiber to create a soft, refined surface while promoting faster moisture transfer.

The internal structure also maintains a degree of airflow, helping reduce heat and moisture byggup during prolonged sykling and improving the pute’s overall dry-touch ytelse.

Three-Dimensional Cutting for Smoother Pressure Transitions

The high-density support zones use ISO CUTTING three-dimensional shaping technology to reduce the rigid transitions commonly found in conventional thermoformed foam structures.

This creates smoother transitions between areas of different thicknesses and densities, helping reduce hard edges and localized pressure.

The contoured surface also reduces continuous flat contact between the skin and the pute, helping limit heat byggup and friction during long turer.

The upper foam lag uses DURA SENSE polyester material with high extensibility, allowing the pute to adapt more naturally to body movement. This improves multidirectional stretch and creates a more dynamic passform while sykling.

Functional Stoff Zoning: Different Materials for Different Areas of the Body

Functional fabric zoning across the LAMEDA Pro Cycling Skinsuit

Different areas of the body place different demands on a cycling skinsuit.

The chest and back require abrasion resistance, moisture management, and controlled stretch. The ermer must support aerodynamisk ytelse and stable kompresjon. The underarms and side-waist areas require greater pusteevne.

For this reason, the Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series does not rely on a single stoff throughout. Instead, four functional materials are strategically combined in specific zones to create a system that responds dynamically to the rytter’s movement and thermal needs.

Upper-Body Construction: Durability, Pusteevne, and Aerodynamisk Control

Chest and Back Panels

The chest and back panels use selected stoffer to improve abrasion resistance and fukttransporterende ytelse.

These stoffer maintain an aerodynamisk passform while providing sufficient stretch across the chest and torso. Whether the rytter is holding a low aerodynamisk position, sykling out of the sete, or maintaining a race posture for an extended period, the material moves naturally with the body and helps reduce restriction.

Structured Ribbed Ermer

The ermer use a three-dimensional ribbed aerodynamisk stoff.

The structured surface is designet to guide airflow around the arms more effectively and reduce unnecessary aerodynamisk disturbance. The material also improves arm kompresjon and erme stability, helping the ermer remain in position during high-speed sykling and repeated arm movement.

Pustende Underarm and Side-Waist Panels

Pustende mesh panels extend from the underarms to the side waist to improve airflow and heat dissipation.

As the rytter’s arms move, these areas naturally open and close, creating dynamic ventilation channels. This helps release excess heat during high-intensity effort and reduce moisture byggup beneath the arms and along the sides of the torso.

Lower-Body Stoff: Moisture Management, Durability, and Kompresjon

The lower-body section is konstruert to manage perspiration through a continuous process of absorption, transfer, and evaporation.

Moisture is drawn away from the skin, transferred to the outer lag of the stoff, and dispersed across a larger surface area to promote evaporation. This helps reduce the damp, sticky sensation that may develop after prolonged or high-intensity effort.

The stoff uses a high-gauge, high-density warp-knit construction composed of approximately:

  • 80% polyamide
  • 20% elastane

This construction combines stretch, muscular support, durability, and abrasion resistance, making it suitable for road training, langdistanse sykling, racing, and a wide range of cycling conditions.

Race-Passform Pattern Engineering: Designet Around Aerodynamikk and the Sykling Position

LAMEDA Pro Cycling Skinsuit shown in an aerodynamic riding position

The Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series uses an exceptionally close race passform designet around aerodynamisk principles and the syklist’s sykling position.

Three-dimensional pattern engineering allows the garment to passform the body more precisely when the rytter is on the bike. This reduces excess stoff and minimizes folds that may appear acceptable while standing but become disruptive once the rytter moves into an aerodynamisk position.

The result is a lettvekt, high-kompresjon passform that reduces stoff flutter at speed and improves overall garment stability.

Because the passform is optimized for the sykling position, the skinsuit may feel especially tight while standing. Once the rytter adopts a normal cycling posture, however, the panels and sømmer align more naturally with the body’s movement.

Functional Details for Real-World Sykling

Functional storage and reflective details on the LAMEDA Pro Cycling Skinsuit

Storage Lommer

The skinsuit includes practical storage lommer for a smartphone, energy gels, and other small sykling essentials.

The lomme placement is designet to provide convenient access while maintaining stability and reducing unnecessary movement during the sykl.

High-Visibility Reflekterende Branding

High-visibility reflekterende elements are integrated into the garment to improve rytter visibility in low-light conditions.

When illuminated by vehicle headlights or other directional light sources, these reflekterende details create a more noticeable visual signal. They are especially useful during early-morning turer, evening returns, tunnel sections, and environments where lighting changes quickly.

One-Piece Construction: Reduced Waist Pressure and Garment Movement

During long turer, traditional two-piece sykkelklær can sometimes cause the trøye to sykl up, stoff to bunch around the waist, or bibstropper to create localized pressure.

The Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series uses a one-piece construction that creates a continuous support system across the torso and lower body, helping distribute pressure more evenly around the waist and back.

The skinsuit eliminates traditional shoulder stropper, reducing localized shoulder pressure. Its integrated construction also helps prevent the upper section from sykling up when the syklist adopts a low or aggressive sykling position.

This means fewer adjustments during the sykl and greater focus on kadens, power output, and road conditions.

Continuous coverage across the waist and abdomen also reduces the possibility of cold air entering through the lower edge of the trøye at speed, helping maintain a more stable and komfortabel body environment.

Recommended Sykling Applications

The Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series is especially suitable for:

  • Competitive cycling and race-day use
  • Ryttere focused on aerodynamisk efficiency
  • High-intensity training and power-focused sessions
  • Langdistanse landeveissykling
  • Ryttere who want to reduce garment movement and stoff bunching
  • Ryttere who prioritize setepute support and langdistanse komfort
  • Syklister seeking professional ytelse and a distinctive visual style

Sykl with Greater Focus and Komfort

The value of professional sykkelklær extends far beyond appearance.

A well-designet skinsuit can reduce the small issues that distract ryttere during training or competition. There is less need to repeatedly adjust the trøye hem, reposition stoff around the waist, or manage shoulder-stropp pressure. Even when the rytter reaches forward into an aerodynamisk position, the abdomen remains covered.

Even on long turer, the combination of zoned ytelse stoffer, gender-specific setepute designs, race-oriented pattern engineering, and one-piece construction provides consistent support.

When the garment no longer demands attention, the rytter can focus more fully on speed, rhythm, road conditions, and the sykl itself.

The Pro Cycling Skinsuit Series is designet to help every rytter stay focused, sykl efficiently, and enjoy every kilometer.
